Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Ware, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

Contractor Qualification DCAMM Certificate Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Sub Bid Category Painting, Electrical Work Work includes, but is not limited to, upgrades to the Sodium Hypochlorite Chemical Feed Systems at the Brutsch Water Treatment Facility, including the replacement of two bulk storage tanks, CPVC piping, accessories, metering pumps, control panels and chemical containment liner. The Contract Time is 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed Description of the Existing Sodium Hypochlorite Feed System: 1. Sodium Hypochlorite is added as one of two primary disinfectants as required for unfiltered drinking water supplies. There are two 3,000 gallon fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) tanks for storage of sodium hypochlorite. There are three metering pumps to feed sodium hypochlorite to the finished water line. One of three metering pumps feeds sodium hypochlorite to the injection location in the UV room, the other two are backups. 2. There are two fill pipes for the Sodium Hypochlorite bulk storage tanks that start in the fill box located on the outside of the Chemical Building. There are two 2- inch Chlorinated Polyvinylchloride (CPVC) fill lines, one for each bulk storage tank. From the bulk storage tanks to the metering pumps there is a 3-inch CPVC header with a connection to each metering pumps. From the three metering pumps there are two lines to the injection location in the basement of the UV building. 3. Existing piping for the Sodium Hypochlorite system is constructed of schedule 80 CPVC which is solvent welded. The existing metering pump discharge piping consists of 1/2-inch diameter CPVC piping on the piping rack supporting the pump and piping accessories. The pump discharge connects to two headers one for the primary injection point and one for the secondary injection location. From the headers, two 1/2-inch diameter CPVC pipes continue to the wall adjacent to the hallway. Before leaving the chemical storage room, the piping changes to 1/2-inch PFA tubing inside a carrier pipe. The sodium hypochlorite remains in tubing until reaching the injection station in the UV Room. At the injection station, the piping changes to 1/2-inch CPVC where flow elements and other appurtenances are located. After the injection station the piping changes to tubing and drops through the floor to the basement of the UV Building to the injection locations.
