Demolition and site work for a municipal facility in Mexico, Missouri. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.
The Scope of Work includes the asbestos and heavy metal abatement, removal and proper disposal by a Missouri State Certified Asbestos Abatement Contractor of three buildings prior to demolition. The project will also include the demolition, removal and proper disposal of the three buildings. The buildings are located in Mexico, Missouri at 111 E. Monroe Street, 113 E. Monroe Street and 117 E. Monroe Street. The project shall also provide for utility disconnection, safety items, traffic control, restoration and other incidental items and work described in the Project Manual, or reasonably inferable therefrom. Bid packages will be distributed electronically at no cost to the bidder upon request and provision of company and contact details to be added to the Plan Holders List for official communications and addenda. Bidders may print bid documents at their own expense. Project and bidding questions must be submitted via e-mail by the stated deadline; no late or verbal questions will be recognized. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid. Applicable wage rates have been predetermined, with the higher of federal or state wage rates applying where both are required. State wage rates apply if the project bid is over $75,000.00. The successful bidder must affirm participation in the federal work authorization program and compliance with employment eligibility requirements. Upon contract signing, the contractor and subcontractors must provide a ten-hour OSHA construction safety program for on-site employees within sixty days of beginning work. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, but the owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities. Completion- 60 consecutive calendar days The Asbestos Remediation and Building Demolition Project consists of the following work. The bidder shall inspect the three buildings and review the asbestos and heavy metals inspection reports which are included in this Project Manual after the Job Special Provisions. Additional questions concerning the inspection reports shall be directed to Rusty Allen of ARSI at 573-896-0222 who performed the inspections. The asbestos removal must be performed by a Missouri State Certified asbestos abatement contractor. A copy of the certification shall be provided to the County, and City if necessary, prior to the work beginning. The building demolition must be performed by a qualified demolition contractor. The contractor shall notify all utilities having service connections to the three buildings, such as water, sewer, gas, electric, telephone, cable, etc. The contractor shall coordinate with the City of Mexico and the utility providers to ensure all utility disconnection has occurred prior to demolition. Disconnection must meet the requirements of the utility provider and the City of Mexico's requirements. The contractor shall follow the requirements of the City of Mexico for the duration of the project. The erection of the necessary barricades, walls, fencing, etc. for the safety of the public shall be the sole responsibility of the contractor. This includes, but is not limited to, pedestrians, parked vehicles, buildings and local traffic.
