Work includes replacement of the emergency generator battery for the Kohler 100REOZJF unit and connection to the battery charger; replacement of muffler exhaust insulation blankets with three-inch thick Type 1 calcium silicate insulation with aluminum jacket; removal and proper disposal of abandoned underground fuel lines with capping and sealing of all openings; modification of the fuel trough trench and installation of piping at ground level; removal of rust and surface preparation followed by painting of the 1,000-gallon fuel tank using a state-approved coating system; installation of OSHA-required placards and electrical grounding in accordance with the National Electrical Code; pressure testing of primary and secondary fuel tanks by a Florida-registered precision tank tester; sealing of concrete walls and dike areas with state-approved elastomeric polysulfide joint sealant; installation of fuel containment pans; completion of all required electrical connections between the generator, automatic transfer switch, and electrical panels; operational testing of the generator system; and provision of informal operational training for station personnel.
