Reference Number 0000421790 The County of Ottawa, on behalf of the Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission (OCPRC), is inviting experienced and qualified Contractors to bid on the construction of an approximately 3-mile paved, non-motorized multi-use trail and associated amenities in Allendale Township, Ottawa County, Michigan. The new trail extends from the Eastmanville Bayou Open Space parking area at the 68th St. Bridge to the intersection of Comfort Street and 60th Ave. The project includes a trail through park property and a separated path along public roads. It includes bituminous and concrete paving, wood boardwalks, modular block retain wall, storm sewer, landscaping, and other miscellaneous items of construction. This project is partially funded by a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant and all applicable requirements apply. Question Deadline 05/04/2026 at 5:00 PM ET Contractors may submit questions and requests for clarification relating to this ITB to the ITB Administrator by the stated deadline Steven Holden, Procurement Specialist, 616-994-4778, purchasing.rfp@miottawa.org Contractor must provide a detailed construction schedule to the Owner and Engineer at or prior to the pre-construction meeting. The named subcontractor(s) for Specialty and/or Designated Items (if such items are designated in the proposal) which materially affect the work schedule, must also be presented at the preconstruction meeting. Contractor will be responsible for coordination of all work activities. Contractor will be given sixteen (16) weeks to complete the work, and all major items of work should be completed on or before November 15 th , 2026. Contractor will be responsible for sequencing construction operations in an efficient manner to minimize the length of service interruptions and to meet the Contract completion dates. Contractor will coordinate and cooperate with the Owner, Engineers, MDOT, local businesses, local schools, and other construction projects. Failure by the Contractor to complete the project by the completion date as indicated below will result in the Contractor being assessed liquidated damages in accordance with this Contract. Liquidated Damages will continue to be assessed for each calendar day or portion of a day that these requirements are not met. All work located south of Lincoln Avenue and 61 st Street must be coordinated with the ongoing watermain installation project currently in progress along Lincoln Avenue and 60 th Street. The contractor must communicate and schedule activities as necessary to avoid conflicts and ensure continuity of operations. Due to the presence of a nesting eagle habitat near the proposed boardwalk location, no construction activities must occur east of Station 250+00 and north of Station 170+00 prior to August 1. Additionally, any owner approved construction activities within 600 feet of the identified nest shall be limited between January 1 and July 31 to minimize disturbance during the nesting period. However, other work, excepting this area, through the bayou area is encouraged. Bidders are not required to attend the bid opening and may alternatively request a copy of the public opening tabulation via email to purchasing.rfp@miottawa.org, available no later than 5:00 PM ET, depending on the number of bidders.
