Alachua County is seeking proposals from qualified artists for the provision of an outdoor mosaic installation for the State Attorney's Office building at 120 West University Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32601.. This project aims to celebrate the transition between Downtown and the Historic Pleasant Street Neighborhood, which was the first and most important black residential neighborhood in Gainesville, founded after the Civil War. The selected Artist will engage with the Pleasant Street Community to develop a preliminary sketch that is reflective of the values of the community. The selected Artist will work closely with Alachua County staff to determine the exact size, precise indoor/outdoor installation location, and installation method(s) to ensure the mosaic is publicly viewable without compromising the structural integrity of the building's facade or causing an attractive nuisance for vandalism.
