Renovation of an educational facility in Madison, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 54,650-square-foot educational facility.
The work consists of the replacement of approximately 54,650 square feet of the existing roof system, related flashings, and existing insulation at designated portions of the Dreyfus University Center. The scope includes: - Removal of about 22,000 square feet of existing EPDM and built-up roofs down to the existing roof deck with installation of new insulation and a fully-adhered EPDM roof system. - Replacement of approximately 27,250 square feet of existing ballasted EPDM membrane roofing with new ballasted EPDM membrane, retaining existing ballast and insulation in good condition, and adding supplemental insulation. - Replacement of approximately 5,400 square feet of existing standing seam metal roof. - Rehabilitation of wall systems at roof perimeters known to have existing leaks. All potential bidders must be certified by the Department of Administration (DOA) prior to submitting bids on state construction projects over $100,000. Only certified contractors may submit bids. Sealed bids must be submitted as PDF files with required forms and signatures via the eBuilder Bidding Portal (preferred), by US Mail or third-party delivery, or by hand delivery to the specified address. The bidder is responsible for proper and timely delivery or submission of the sealed bid. A bid guarantee of 10% of the bid must accompany each submission. General prime contractor bids that do not include successful MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection) bids will be rejected. The state will contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor, who will then subcontract with successful MEP bidders if applicable. All construction records will be processed electronically via eBuilder. Bidding documents may be obtained electronically as PDFs from the Division's Projects Bidding website.
