The Regional Municipality of York (the Region) is undertaking the next phase of electrification works at the York Region Transit (YRT) Bus Depot located at 55 Orlando Avenue, Richmond Hill, Ontario. The 55 Orlando facility is a key operations hub supporting YRT's conventional, Viva, and specialized transit fleets. The facility was recently expanded to accommodate additional bus storage capacity and to enable the phased implementation of electric bus (E-Bus) infrastructure. The current project will advance the construction of the electrical and supporting infrastructure required to support YRT's transition to a zero-emission fleet. The proposed works will include, but are not limited to: - Installation of E-Bus charging systems and associated distribution infrastructure - Upgrades to the facility's electrical service and power distribution systems - Civil, structural, mechanical, and architectural modifications required to support the electrification works - Integration with existing building systems and operational infrastructure The facility will remain fully operational on a 24-hour, 7-day basis throughout construction. The successful contractor will be required to plan and execute the works in a manner that ensures uninterrupted transit operations, maintains safe access for staff and vehicles, and minimizes operational disruption.
