Reference Number 0000422036 Source ID PU.AG.USA.2756265.2756267.C18581901 Piggyback Contract No The University of Utah Facilities team is seeking proposals for a feasibility study to evaluate this project envisioned as a dynamic, interdisciplinary hub that integrates hospitality, culinary innovation, prototypal learning, live operations, and student life into a single, highly visible campus destination within the framework of College Town Magic. The selected team will need to identify and develop the project's financial, technical, and operational viability, including market demand, and ROI. Key areas to cover are budget/funding, construction timeline, ADA compliance, and user capacity to ensure the project meets criteria for student housing, and a comprehensive suite of student, campus community, and visitor-oriented amenities integrated within the ~260,000-sf facility and aligned with the broader College Town Magic district vision, including dining, wellness, social, and experiential spaces. Collaborating with the Master Architect Planning consultant, the team will drive, refine and advance the programmatic elements and associated amenities as a core environment for hospitality driven, experiential learning, industry partnership, and a 24/7 campus culture. The project is intended to integrate real-world operational environments--such as dining venues, hospitality services, and event spaces--with innovation and prototyping infrastructure, enabling both traditional hospitality training and interdisciplinary experimentation across design, engineering, and technology. The facility will serve as both a living-learning community and a campus-facing destination that supports conferences, executive education, and year-round programming. Based on the successful innovation and completion of the feasibility study, the selected team will have the opportunity to advance to the programming stage of the project; and then based on performance, the opportunity to advance to the design phase. There is no guarantee or commitment of work that extends past the feasibility study, and the decision to move forward to subsequent phases is at the sole discretion of the University. The initial contract award will be for a feasibility study only. After satisfactory completion of the feasibility study, the University may award programming services to the feasibility study consultant. After satisfactory completion of programming, the University may award design services to the programming consultant.
