Perform vertical mowing and trimming along both sides of the road to the edge of the right of way and vertically up to 25 feet of all trees and tree branches that are encroaching or are a threat to encroach from the sides of the right of way onto the travel ways on 78.152 miles of county roads. Bidders must inform themselves concerning Georgia laws and comply with them. Valid proof of insurance, a list of three references for similar work (excluding the Owner), and the ability to bond 100% of the submitted bid through a qualified surety company are required. The contractor must perform at least 70% of the project without the use of subcontractors and provide a list of any subcontractors to be used. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond equivalent to five percent of the total contract amount or a certified/cashier’s check or cash in the same amount. Performance and payment bonds will be required from the successful bidder. Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the Federal Registry of Companies with Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds, and be licensed to do business in Georgia. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked on the outside with the project title and bid number. If mailed, the sealed bid envelope must be placed inside a separate mailing envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive formalities, and to re-advertise. The contract may be awarded in whole or in parts to one or more successful bidders.
