Monitor the southern border of Texas in support of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Veterinary Services, Cattle Fever Tick Eradication Program by capturing stray livestock and maintaining a Permanent Quarantine Zone for control of the cattle fever tick originating from Mexico. Work includes routinely transporting livestock to holding pens for diagnostic testing, dipping, owner contact, and transportation to auction markets when required. Operations support maintenance of the Permanent Quarantine Zone encompassing multiple county offices and extensive border areas to ensure effective control and eradication activities.
