Description

Renovation of an educational facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Kalamazoo Public Schools is soliciting bids for the removal of asbestos-containing materials. A mandatory walk-through survey of the removal area is scheduled. Contractors will receive specifications at that time and must meet at Phoenix High School. Sealed bids are to be submitted and will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Kalamazoo Public Schools Facilities Management Offices. Bids received late will not be considered or accepted. Envelopes must be clearly marked as ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PROPOSAL - DO NOT OPEN. All proposals must be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education of the Kalamazoo Public Schools or the Superintendent of the School District. Bids not including this statement will not be accepted. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid must accompany each bid. Successful bidders will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of their contract amount if the contract is over $50,000.00. Contractors should submit bids to Kalamazoo Public Schools. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or combination of bids and to waive irregularities in bidding. All bids may be held for a period not to exceed 120 days before awarding contracts.
