Beltline leaders have scheduled a formal groundbreaking Sept. 10 for Northwest Trail--Segment 3B, a winding stretch that will use a bridge to pass under Interstate 75 and link with long-finished trails in Collier Hills and around Bobby Jones Golf Course. The scope of work includes but is not limited to ADA-accessible ramps, crosswalks, signage, lights and security cameras, environmental remediation, utility relocations, stormwater infrastructure, retaining walls, new bridge structures, and landscaping. Both federal and non-federal funds are combined to support the cost of this project. Preliminary work for the one-mile Segment 3B such as site clearing and utility location has kicked off in recent weeks, but the groundbreaking ceremony at Atlanta Technology Center next month will mark the official start of construction, per Beltline officials.
