Site work for a mixed-use development in Atlanta, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
https://atlanta.urbanize.city/post/beltline-northwest-trail-buckhead-westside-official-groundbreaking-under-freeway A section of the Atlanta Beltline loop that promises to be aesthetically unique and highly connective from an urban planning perspective is moving forward now. Beltline leaders have scheduled a formal groundbreaking Sept. 10 for Northwest Trail--Segment 3B, a winding stretch that will use a bridge to pass under Interstate 75 and link with long-finished trails in Collier Hills and around Bobby Jones Golf Course. The scope of work includes but is not limited to ADA-accessible ramps, crosswalks, signage, lights and security cameras, environmental remediation, utility relocations, stormwater infrastructure, retaining walls, new bridge structures, and landscaping. Both federal and non-federal funds are combined to support the cost of this project. Preliminary work for the one-mile Segment 3B such as site clearing and utility location has kicked off in recent weeks, but the groundbreaking ceremony at Atlanta Technology Center next month will mark the official start of construction, per Beltline officials. Plans for an elevated section of Northwest Trail--Segment B passing under I-75 and heading into Buckhead. Courtesy of Atlanta Beltline Inc. Atlanta Beltline Inc. The first portion of Northwest Trail--Segment 3 opened last summer between Trabert Avenue and Northside Drive, with Monday Night Brewery's The Grove project in between. (Plans were unveiled earlier this year for another adaptive-reuse, retail pitstop along that section, too.) Once finished, Segment 3 will span 1.2 miles total. It will link together multiple neighborhoods--Ardmore, Berkeley Park, Brookwood, Collier Hills, and Loring Heights--and connect to the completed Northside Trail and Tanyard Creek Park. The Beltline's construction schedule calls for Section 3B to be finished and open in late fall 2028. ____________ Bid is Cancelled as per URL. Atlanta Beltline, Inc.
