Renovation of a municipal facility in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The objective of this project is to implement a structured cabling solution that supports the Municipality’s network, audiovisual, and control system requirements across 24 designated office and boardroom spaces. This work includes the supply and installation of standardized CAT6 plenumrated cabling infrastructure, terminating at both in room consolidation points and central network closets, to ensure consistent connectivity, reliable performance, and long-term maintainability. The installation will provide a total of 192 data lines, with eight (8) drops provisioned per room. Scope Inclusions: 1. Cabling Supply & Installation Provide and install CAT6, plenum-rated (CMP), green-colored data cabling throughout all designated spaces. Install eight (8) data lines per room across 24 rooms, resulting in 192 total drops. Route all cabling from the central network closet(s) to each respective office/boardroom. 2. Room-Side Termination Terminate all eight (8) cables per room at the center of the room, above the ceiling tile, on an 8-position termination block (or an RMWB approved equivalent consolidation point). Provide strain-relief, proper cable support, and compliant ceiling-space cable management. Label each termination point according to the Municipality’s finalized labeling scheme which will be provided to the successful respondent. 3. Network Closet Termination Terminate all cabling onto a Belden RevConnect or equivalent 24-port fully-loaded patch panel (or multiple panels as required). Patch panels shall be mounted in the existing or designated equipment rack. Dress and secure all cabling neatly with appropriate horizontal/vertical cable management. Provide machine-printed labels for all patch-panel ports and cable IDs. 4. Cable Pathways & Infrastructure Use existing cable pathways wherever feasible. Provide additional supports, J-hooks, bridle rings, or other approved cable-support hardware as needed to maintain code-compliant spacing and support. Ensure proper separation from electrical/EMI sources Adherence to bend-radius and installation standards. 5. Labeling Requirements The successful respondent shall provide clear, durable, professional-grade printed labels meeting the following: Labels must be placed at both ends of every cable. No tape labels are permitted. Labels must be machine-printed (e.g., Brady, Panduit, Dymo industrial-grade or equivalent) and rated for long-term telecom use. Labeling shall be clear, consistent, and match the label documentation provided by the RMWB to the successful respondent. 6. Testing & Certification Perform 100% CAT6 certification testing on all 192 cable runs in full accordance with ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, verifying that each link meets the electrical performance requirements to support 1 Gbps (1000BASE-T) operation. Use an approved field certification tool (e.g., Fluke DSX Series) capable of measuring all parameters defined by 568.2-D. Provide electronic test results for every drop in both PDF and native tester formats. Repair, re-terminate, or replace any cable runs that fail to meet 568.2-D and 1 Gbps compliance at no additional cost to the Municipality. 7. Clean-Up, Compliance & Warranty Restore any ceiling tiles, penetrations, and fire-stopping materials affected during the installation. Ensure all work meets applicable building codes, fire codes, and structured cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA). Fire stopping shall be UL listed systems matching wall/floor assembly rating.
