Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

CR#: 2134539 The work involves the reconstruction of 1,570 linear feet of trail within the Old Croton Aqueduct trail system. The scope includes clearing and widening the trail to 8 feet, removing rocks and dirt mounds, and resurfacing with compacted gravel aggregate material, ideally a nature pathway mix. Three or more drainage structures must be installed at critical points, and trail approaches will be surfaced, compacted, and graded to a general thickness of 3-4 inches. The contractor must assess the landscape with the OPRHP Trails Coordinator to determine the location of drainage structures, and a site visit is mandatory for this project. Vendor Questions Due 5/15/2026 3:00 PM ET This section of the OCA trail is suUering from poor drainage and treadway erosion, resulting in a rough and uneven trail surface. Work will consist of clearing and widening the existing path, removing large obstacles such as rocks and dirt mounds, and surfacing degraded trail treadway with compacted gravel aggregate material (ideally a nature trail pathway mix). 3 or more drainage structures (e.g. cross drains, water bars, culverts, drainage channels etc.) must be installed at critical points to mitigate erosion and water channel formation. Approaches on both ends of the trail segment must also be surfaced, compacted and graded to allow for smooth transitions from roadway to trail. Surfacing, compaction & grading should be accomplished using a mixture of heavy machinery and hand tools. Desired surfacing thickness may vary throughout the section depending on conditions but should generally be 3-4 inches. The contractor must assess landscape with OPRHP Trails Coordinator to determine best locations of drainage structures - this will likely be 2-3 cross-drains and a drainage channel alongside the side of the trail at various points. The northern access point (located on featured map) has suitable space for parking, and both access points can be used for machinery entry. Trail Length: 1,570 feet Trail Width: Varies throughout trail section, aiming for a consistent 8 feet (or slightly narrower where 8 feet is not feasible)
