New construction of a water / sewer project in Corbin, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.
Minority 4.5% Female 6.9% Consisting of a new Sodium Hypochlorite Building, including two bulk storage tanks, one day tank, two magnetic drive type transfer pumps, triplex peristaltic pump chemical feed skid, chemical piping and valves, electrical and HVAC equipment, yard piping, and improvements to filter building pipe gallery together with all related work as specified and shown on the Drawings. The foregoing descriptions shall not be construed as a complete description of all work required. Sealed bids are requested for the construction of the Water Treatment Plant Sodium Hypochlorite Disinfection Improvements project, which consists of a new Sodium Hypochlorite Building including two bulk storage tanks, one day tank, two magnetic drive type transfer pumps, triplex peristaltic pump chemical feed skid, chemical piping and valves, electrical and HVAC equipment, yard piping, and improvements to the filter building pipe gallery, together with all related work as specified and shown on the drawings. All prospective bidders must be pre-qualified. Pre-qualification applies only to General Contractors and must be approved by the City Utilities Commission. Bids from contractors who are not pre-qualified will not be accepted. Bidders must purchase bidding documents from GRW Engineers Inc. through their digital plan room, and only those on the Engineer's Plan Holders List will have their bids opened. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check equal to five percent of the bid. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety days after the closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids. Bidders must comply with applicable federal and state requirements, including the Civil Rights Act, the Davis-Bacon Act, the President's Executive Order No. 11246 (as amended), and make efforts to use small, minority, women-owned, and disadvantaged businesses. Successful bidders must document the "Good Faith Efforts" specified by the EPA's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program. The project requires compliance with "American Iron and Steel" provisions, meaning all iron and steel products used must be produced in the United States.
