Renovation of a municipal facility in Kitchener, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Entire room requires repainting. Existing lead paint will have to be abated. High ceiling will require scaffolding or lift to access. Abatement work is to include the following: Remove all layers of ceiling paint and primer paint base (lead based). Removal shall be conducted following Level 2 procedures (Intermediate Precautions). The awarded contractor will complete and adhere to a lead dust mitigation plan, in conjunction with MOL Lead on Construction Projects Guideline, and must submit to BGIS for review prior to commencement of task. The asbestos abatement contractor is responsible for the temporary removal and or suspension of ductwork, piping, lighting, sprinkler and ceiling systems, conduit, electrical boxes, etc. in order to complete abatement and repainting in its entirety. Contractor must be compliant with the applicable occupational health and safety act. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.bgis.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform. Question Deadline 05/12/2026 at 2:00 PM ET Site Walkthrough:A maximum of 2 representatives of each Bidder, or its authorized representatives are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS representative at the Building, 15-29 Duke Street, Kitchener, Ontario. Bidders are advised that they must preregister via email, and on behalf of their authorized representatives including sub-contractors, to the procurement specialist named in this ITT (rajesh.gupta@bgis.com) by the date indicated in item 2.6.15 (May 5, 2026 before 2:00 pm) to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register may result in the Bidder’s representative(s) being refused access to the site. BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times. For mandatory site visits, Bidders are only required to attend one scheduled site visit to be eligible to bid. Bidders will be notified of any changes to the date of the site visit by Addenda. Bidders cannot use a representative from another Bidder as its authorized representative to attend the site visit. For details of the Site Visit, please refer to item 2.7 in the ITT document.
