The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals necessary or convenient for the complete modernization of the existing hydraulic elevator systems serving the Mothers Ward at Stony Brook University Hospital. This includes the removal of existing equipment, furnishing and installation of new elevator systems, modification of existing components where required, and all testing, adjustments, and commissioning necessary to provide complete and operable elevator installations. Work must maintain continuous operation of hospital elevator service and minimize disruption to ongoing facility functions. Contractor is required to provide and install new machine room equipment, elevator shaft, hoist way, pit equipment, elevator car equipment, fixtures and controls as detailed, ensuring all components are integrated into a fully operational system. Certain existing equipment designated to remain must be retained and protected, while others are to be refurbished. All work must comply with applicable codes and standards, including ANSI A17.1, ADA, and NEC. Bid submission must be in sealed triplicate, with all required documentation including bid security, forms, certifications, and utilization plans as stipulated. Bidders must demonstrate successful completion of three similar contracts within the last five years, have the required financial resources, and meet New York State registration and compliance requirements. A mandatory site visit is required for all prime contractors wishing to submit bids. Work must also align with prevailing wage requirements and sustainability standards. When applicable, vendors must wear face masks in the hospital environment.
