The work generally includes the abandonment of existing 10-inch cast iron potable main and installation of approximately 6,196 linear feet of 12-inch, 5 linear feet of 10-inch, and 161.5 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron potable water main; jack and bore 81 linear feet of 24-inch steel casing under Union Pacific Railroad; service line reinstatements; and fire hydrant installations and replacements. The project is located in Adams County, Colorado, along Washington Street from E. 58th Avenue to E. 66th Avenue within the District's boundaries. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of construction, project schedules, and all facets of constructing the improvements listed above, in accordance with the project's contract documents, engineering standards, and rules and regulations. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the District, enclosed in a sealed envelope and endorsed with the bidder's name. A bid bond amounting to ten percent of the total bid is required and will be retained as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract. Bidders must supply a list of subcontractors providing $10,000 or more in labor and/or materials. Successful bidders must furnish performance and labor and materials payment bonds for the full contract price. The District reserves rights to reject bids, waive irregularities, negotiate contract terms, require qualifications from bidders, and extend the bidding period if needed. Bids must remain open for sixty days from the opening date.
