The work consists of the replacement of 18 existing cook chill units including the docking stations in the basement Re-Therm Room. The project includes 36 new transport carts. The new units must be compatible with the existing trayware system and dish machine. The new units will be hard wired to assist with installation sequencing. Replacements will occur in multiple phases to maintain operational continuity, and 13 units must be operational at all times throughout the project duration. All bidders must be certified by the Department of Administration prior to submitting bids for projects over $100,000. Bids from non-certified contractors will be rejected. The project uses a single prime bidding and contracting process, where mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP) divisions will be publicly bid first. The lowest, qualified, responsible, certified bidder for each MEP division will be identified, and those bids must be included in all general prime contractor bids. General prime contractor bids without the successful MEP bids will be rejected. The state will contract with the lowest, qualified, responsible, certified general prime contractor, who will then subcontract with the successful MEP bidders. Sealed bids may be submitted as a PDF via the eBuilder Bidding Portal (preferred), by US Mail or third-party delivery, or by hand delivery to the designated drop box. The bidder is responsible for ensuring timely delivery. Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the bid.
