Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Willis, Texas. Completed plans call civil work for a water / sewer project.
The project includes the replacement of the water distribution system. This section describes the project in general and provides an overview of the extent of the work to be performed by the CONTRACTOR. Detailed requirements and extent of work is stated in the applicable Specification sections and shown on the Plans. CONTRACTOR shall, except as otherwise specifically stated herein or in any applicable part of these Contract Documents, provide and pay for all labor, materials, equipment, tools, construction equipment and other facilities and services necessary for proper execution, testing, and completion of the work. B. Any part or item of the work which is reasonably implied or normally required to make each installations satisfactorily operable shall be performed by the CONTRACTOR and the expense thereof shall be included in the applicable unit prices or lump sum prices bid for the work. It is the intent of these Specifications to provide the OWNER with the complete operable systems, subsystems, and the other items of work. All miscellaneous appurtenances and other items of work that are incidental to meeting the intent of these Specifications shall be considered as having been included in the applicable unit prices or lump sum prices bid for the work even though these appurtenances and items may not be specifically called for in the Specifications. 1.02 DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT The Work in this project includes the following: 1. Installation of 8-inch, 6-inch and 4-inch potable water lines within Montgomery County right of way. Total length of line is approximately 20,000 feet. 2. Boring of all driveways and county road sections is required. 3. Appurtenances include Tees, Bends, Reducers, Valves, Flush Hydrants and air vacuum release valves. 4. Disinfection of water system using the methods approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). 5. Meter reconnections will be required for approximately 150 residences utilizing tapping saddles on the newly installed lines. 6. Erosion control, traffic control and site restoration are included. NOTE: The engineering design for this project was based on installing water lines with horizontal directional drilling utilizing HDPE water pipe. Contractors with alternate means and methods will be allowed provided the methods are approved by the engineer and contractor provides as built drawings to the district showing the installation provided.
