Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Elmira, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The work involves the removal of existing asphalt, gravel surfaces, and selected site features, followed by the construction of a new, fully paved parking lot to improve functionality, accessibility, and overall site organization. The redesigned lot will provide approximately 133 parking spaces, including 6 barrier-free spaces and 6 dedicated horse carriage parking spaces. The layout will include defined drive aisles, improved circulation, and enhanced pedestrian connections through new concrete sidewalks and tactile walking surface indicators. Grading improvements will ensure appropriate slopes for runoff while maintaining accessibility and safety standards. The scope includes asphalt removal, granular base excavation, placement and compaction of granular base, fine grading, concrete work, asphalt paving, pavement markings, and restoration. Lighting installation is not included. The paving program will be completed in two phases: first, removal of all existing asphalt; next, township-hired electricians install streetlighting; then, the contractor returns to complete granular work, grading, two lifts of HL4 asphalt totalling 120mm thickness, pavement markings, and final restoration.
