Renovation of a detention facility in Oxford, Wisconsin. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
The work consists of the demolition and replacement of the existing Education chair lift at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, FCI Oxford. The current lift is inoperable and has exceeded its service life. The scope includes disconnecting and protecting existing electrical service, removing the existing chair lift assembly, and furnishing and installing a new ADA-compliant inclined platform lift. The basis of design is the Garaventa GSL Artira or an approved equal. The new lift system shall include a complete platform assembly with drive and guide-rail components, obstruction-sensing devices, passenger restraining arms, retractable boarding ramps, kick plates, safety lighting, hand grips, low-voltage controls, emergency stop features, and keyless operation. Work also includes installation of a new drive cabinet with integrated disconnect, battery backup system, call stations at each landing, and all associated programming, testing, adjustments, and commissioning. All work must comply with ASME A18.1, ADA-ABA requirements, NFPA, NEC, and all applicable Federal, State, and local codes. Installation shall be performed by manufacturer-certified technicians. The contractor is responsible for providing all required submittals, safety plans, quality control documentation, testing, and closeout materials in accordance with the Statement of Work and specifications.
