The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on August 11, 2026, at 01:00 PM at the Bureau of Urban Program Planning Office in Springfield. The department is seeking a Consultant team prepared to work with the department on various planning activities outlined in the Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient, and Cost-Saving Transportation (PROTECT) Formula Program and recommended by the (20 ILCS 4116/) Blue-Ribbon Commission on Transportation Infrastructure Funding and Policy Act (BRC), final report. Activities may include, but are not limited to: Creating a Resilience Improvement Plan for various communities throughout Illinois. Development of data tools to simulate transportation disruption scenarios. Provide industry-leading technical capacity to assess the vulnerabilities of the department's surface transportation assets and community response strategies under current conditions and a range of potential future conditions. Evaluate and update evacuation planning, preparation, and related products. both internal processes within IDOT and how they relate to partner state agencies and communities within the state. Help organize IDOT staff to better address sustainability issues across a wide range of activities. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
