Midland Independent School District. Courtesy of Midland ISD The Midland ISD Board of Trustees is set to conduct a special school board meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, in Room 101 of the Administration Building, 615 W. Missouri Ave. Here’s a preview of items scheduled for discussion at the meeting. CMAR services The district will recommend approval of the ranking of respondents to RFP No. 26-95 construction manager at risk services for Storie Middle School and Encore Academy. The evaluation committee, led by MISD, reviewed and ranked all proposals, with Lee Lewis Construction as the highest-ranked offeror and recommended provider of CMAR services for the 2023 Bond Package No. 12 Middle School Group D and Encore Academy. Annual property insurance renewal Trustees will hear a recommendation to approve the property insurance renewal for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The district said that since 2024, it has increased the total insured value of property from $920 million to $1.3 billion, an increase of about 42%, while decreasing the annual premium by about 14.7%. Retention incentive Trustees will hear a recommendation to approve a one-time retention incentive for returning employees. To ensure the district can pass balanced budgets while providing appropriate compensation increases for staff, administrators are recommending a one-time retention incentive based on the district’s financial forecast for the current fiscal year. Qualifications for employees to receive the retention payment include the following: Must remain employed with the district in a full-time role through Jan. 31, 2026. Must be active in the district’s ERP system as of June 1, 2026. 2026-27 compensation plan The development of the plan considered multiple factors, including state funding, projected enrollment, staffing needs and regional salary comparisons. ----------------- This project is for Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Services for the Midland ISD Storie Middle School Renovation/Encore project, covering Phase one and Phase two in a one-step process.
