Renovation of an industrial development in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a industrial development.
The work consists of exterior and interior improvements to the Cold Storage building at the Water Resource Recovery Facility. Improvements include, but are not limited to: select demolition of existing steel exterior siding and roofing; new steel siding, roofing, soffit, facia, ridge vent, and trim; replacement of wood grade board with concrete infill; concrete structural repairs to the post frame structure; new roll up door; new LED lighting; and miscellaneous painting. Bids must be based on unit prices as listed on the Bid Form and submitted using the e-bidding system. Bidders and subcontractors must comply with the City of Grand Rapids prequalification and license requirements. Contractors and subcontractors may not discriminate against any employee or job applicant in any matter related to employment because of actual or perceived color, race, religion or creed, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genotype, age, marital status, familial status, medical condition, disability, height, weight, or source of lawful income and the successful bidder will be required to include this provision in all subcontracts related to the project. The successful bidder must have a policy regarding Drug Free Workplace and certify this policy to the City. A certified cashier's check or bid bond for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid is required. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 45 calendar days after the bid opening. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to reject a bid if the bidder is not in a position to perform the contract, to waive informalities, irregularities and technicalities, to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional bids, or to advertise for new bids at its discretion. The City also reserves the right to award the contract in the City's best interest and may select a bidder other than the lowest. QA date - 5-20-2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents shall be submitted to the Engineer in writing. Replies will be issued by Addenda, mailed, faxed, electronically or otherwise delivered to all parties, recorded by the City as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than 5 business days prior to the date for opening of Bids will not be answered.
