This is a request for Statement of Qualifications (RFQ) for Mechanical Engineering Design services at A.L. Stanback Middle School for Orange County Schools. The RFQ is intended to select an engineering firm to outline an alternative HVAC design approach, consisting of a like-in-kind replacement of the existing single-zone constant volume (2-pipe) system. The replacement shall be functionally equivalent, aiming to maintain operational simplicity, reduce overall project cost, minimize construction impact, and avoid schedule disruption, while integrating a modern building controls system using an owner preferred vendor. Submittals must be prepared simply and economically, providing concise answers in the order and format prescribed. Minimum submission requirements include: 1. Letter of Interest: A one-page signed document stating why the firm is suited for the project, its unique qualities, and other relevant expertise. 2. Submittal Content: Organized as outlined, including the following information: - Firm’s legal name, address, phone number, email, website URL, and professional license number - Contact information for follow-up - Brief business history, office location, jurisdictions qualified for professional engineering services, and HUB / MWBE status - Project experience in table format, listing similar projects from the past five years with project details, costs, owner contact, year completed, references, and MBE participation - Five client references for recent, similar work - Resumes for key personnel likely assigned to the project - Disclosure of any litigation involving the firm over the past five years with brief summaries of outcomes - Disclosure of any conflicts of interest for the design and construction portions of the work Responses must meet these minimum requirements and be clearly organized, as failure to do so may result in disqualification.
