Renovation of a museum in Austin, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum; museum; and museum.
The Texas Historical Commission is seeking a contractor for a roof replacement project at the French Legation State Historic Site. The project includes the removal and disposal of the existing wood roof shingles and their replacement with new wood roof shingles on the historic house, kitchen, and privy. Work also includes repairing or replacing the window sills of the dormer windows and at dormers at the historic house. Associated sheet metal flashing will also be replaced with new material. 1. remove existing cedar shake roof,flashing, etc. down to lath boards/plywood on historic house, kitchen, & privy. dispose of material legally, offsite. 2. replace damaged lath boards to match existing on historic house 3. install newshakes, flashing and accessories on historic house, kitchen, & privy. see specifications, a-0.1 & a-0.2 4. repair/replace windowsills @ dormer windows. 5. replace damaged siding @ dormer windows French Legation State Historic Site, 802 San Marcos Street, Austin, TX 78702 The estimated construction budget for this project is $130,000 Services are estimated to take place between July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
