The Hesperia Unified School District is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and disposal necessary for the removal and replacement of deteriorated or outdating T-11, fascia, lower trim and ramp skirting of ten (10) classrooms across three (3) sites. The new exterior finishes shall utilize Hardie fiber-cement panels (or equal) for improved durability, and long-term performance. Some locations will also need fascia replaced which will require removal of roofing material. Contractor shall not damage roofing membrane so that it can be reattached once fascia is replaced. Any damage will shall be repaired by contractor. Fascia needs to be replaced with rough sawn pine primed or (equal). Painting will also be in scope of work. Coordinate with district for trim and siding colors. Photos of current conditions are provided in Exhibit A. The Contractor shall perform, within the time stipulated, the Contract, including all of its component parts, and everything required to be performed, and to provide and furnish any and all of the labor, materials, tools, expendable equipment, and all applicable taxes, and all utility and transportation services necessary to perform the Contract and complete, in a workmanlike manner, all of the work required in connection with Bid # 25/26-017 EXTERIOR SIDING REPLACEMENT - MULTIPLE SITES, in strict conformity with the Contract Documents. This project is for the award of a contract for the exterior siding replacement at multiple sites within the Hesperia Unified School District. Personal sureties and unregistered surety companies are unacceptable. The surety insurer shall be California admitted surety insurer, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. The surety insurer must, unless otherwise agreed to by District in writing, at the time of issuance of the bond, have a rating not lower than "A-" as rated by A.M. Best Company, Inc. or other independent rating companies. The District reserves the right to approve or reject the surety insurer selected by the Contractor and to require the Contractor to obtain a bond from a surety satisfactory to the District. The check or bid bond shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder shall execute the Contract if awarded to the Bidder, the awarded Bidder shall provide the payment and performance bonds and insurance certificates and endorsements as required herein within ten (10) calendar days after notification of the award of the Contract to the Bidder. Failure to provide the required documents may result in forfeiture of the Bidder's bid deposit or bond to the District and the District may award the Contract to the next lowest responsible Bidder, or may call for new bids.
