Sealed bids are invited from licensed contractors for a multi-year service contract to perform routine and emergency tree trimming and tree removal services at various family and elderly developments in Medford, MA. The work includes on-site tree trimming and removal at public housing locations. Contractors must be able to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, within three hours if needed. The contract amount shall not exceed $250,000.00 and will last for three years. Bids must comply with M.G.L. c30, § 39M, minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 §§26 to 27H, and Federal Davis Bacon wage rates. The project is also subject to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. General bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit of not less than five percent of the bid amount, payable to the Medford Housing Authority. The Medford Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or proposals, either wholly or in part, to waive formalities or irregularities, and to make awards it deems in its best interest.
