The City of Huntsville is requesting solicitations to replace the sidewalk on Smither Drive. The area starts at the Smither overpass and goes west for approximately 285 linear feet to the new concrete driveway entrance. The Vendor must meet the following requirements at minimum: Remove existing sidewalk. Level sidewalk and supporting shoulder, add fill as needed with common material. Set forms for a 5-foot-wide sidewalk. Rebar shall be #3 bars on 20 centers, both ways. Expansion joints shall be redwood or treated wood for ground contact, as needed. Doweling shall be sufficient to prevent vertical movement of the sidewalk joints, as needed. Pour new concrete sidewalk. Concrete shall be a minimum of 5 sack cement per yard, limestone gravel, 3,000 psi ready mix concrete. Normal broom finished concrete. Haul all debris from worksite. Must adhere to City of Huntsville Engineering specifications for sidewalk replacement. Responsible for all necessary traffic control devices to ensure a safe work zone for workers, pedestrians, and motorists.
