Site work and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Worcester, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and playground / park / athletic field.
This project is for the South Worcester Playground Improvements - Phase III. Add Alternate No.1 - Renovations to Existing Playground: a. Remove, dispose and replace (approx. 8250 SF) existing poured-in-place playground (TOP SURFACE ONLY) rubber safety surfacing, materials and debris required for finishing work. Include in add alternate price, to furnish and installation of up to 6.0 cubic yards of base mat material (approx. 1/4 -inch uniform thickness over 8250 SF) for shimming purposes, replace existing low spots, voids, and loss during removal of existing top surface and playground equipment. b. Provide time for Owner to perform in-house attenuation testing within 48 hours of notification and/or after curing period; i. after existing top surface is removed. ii. after shimming layer of base mat is installed/cured. iii. after new top surface is installed/cured. c. Remove and dispose of existing single spring rocker playground equipment and footing. Backfill and compact voids below base mat layer with gravel. d. Chamfer by sawcut method corners (32 locations) of existing decorative granite blocks in three directions, six inches from existing exposed corners. Project to start on July 1, 2026 and be completed for use/occupancy by May 30, 2027.
