Site work for a mixed-use development in Sumter, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a library; and sidewalk / parking lot.
1. Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment and materials to resurface a portion of the area to be resurfaced will have the corners marked with red paint showing the corners. That portion of the parking lot is outlined in red of the attached aerial. 2. All work is to be performed in a professional manner. 3. All areas shall be swept clean with a power broom and debris removed from the job site and properly disposed. A landfill tipping fee waiver form will be available if necessary, should the successful bidder desire the waiver. 4. Any grassy area shall be burned off and treated with a grass killer such as Round-up or Primatol. 5. The contractor shall repair all existing asphalt failures according to industry standards to give the Owner a one (1) warranty on his workmanship. 6. After the entire area has been swept and properly prepared, the Contractor shall apply a tack coat to the entire paved area. 7. The Contractor shall apply a one and half inch (1 1/2") or one hundred fifty pounds (150 lbs.) per square yard of Type C asphalt to the properly prepared sub-surface and according to industry standards. 8. The Contractor shall make himself/herself familiar with the job site along with the bid document package. 9. The Contractor shall perform the requirements of this bid in a manner to minimize any inconvenience to the patrons of the Sumter County Library Main. 10. The Sumter County Project Manager must inspect the workmanship three times: (1) Before each coat is applied (2) During application of asphalt (3) Final Inspection 11. All work must be completed by: August 31, 2026 12. Payment will be made to the Contractor after inspecition(s) by the Public Works Project Manager. Other Details Notes Special Notices Pursuant to the Sumter County Purchasing Ordinance, Sumter County provides a Local Vendor Preference for eligible businesses that maintain a physical place of business within Sumter County and hold the appropriate business licenses. When applicable, qualified local vendors may receive consideration in the evaluation of bids or proposals, provided all requirements and specifications are met. Vendors claiming LVP may be required to submit documentation verifying eligibility.
