The City of Fairborn, Ohio is accepting sealed bids for the Garland Extension Sidewalk Installation. The project includes the installation of 4-inch sidewalk along the south side of Garland Avenue, connecting existing sidewalk east of Marchmont Drive to the sidewalk west of Meadowlands Drive. The installation covers approximately 1,300 feet of 5-foot wide sidewalk. Each proposal must be completed on provided forms and include all required documents from the bid packet. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities in the bidding, and to enter into a contract with the bidder(s) who in the City's opinion offers the lowest and best bid. Question Deadline: 05/20/2026 at 1:00 PM ET The project will begin at the termination point of existing sidewalk east of 403 Marchmont Dr. and head east. When crossing the double culvert, a form of headwall will need to be installed for backfill above the culvert to support the sidewalk installation. A form of guardrail, handrail or other method of safety separation should be installed along sidewalk for the crossing of the culvert. The approximate sidewalk location has been marked on site with white flags and the installation will follow this approximate path. This project will also require two stormwater ditch lines to have storm piping placed and backfilled to allow level installation of the sidewalk. At the terminating end closer to Meadowlands Dr., sidewalk will need to be blended with existing walk. This may require some existing walk to be removed to allow a smooth transition. The contractor shall include all necessary, clearing, removal of wood chips/debris, and grading required to provide an adequately leveled sidewalk along the installation path. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, and contract with the bidder offering the lowest and best bid.
