New construction of a water / sewer project in Sudbury, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a dam / floodwall.

The contractor will design, supply, and operate a temporary flow control system to facilitate the replacement of girders on five dams. Following site visits to confirm ground conditions, a professional engineer will prepare sealed shop drawings. The contractor will install, maintain, relocate, and remove the system as work progresses, protect all existing structures, and repair any damage caused. The contractor is responsible for supplying, installing, maintaining, relocating, and removing a temporary flow management system to control water passing through the spillways during the girder replacement on five dams. The system may include bulkheads, floating bulkheads, or other solutions designed by the contractor, subject to approval by the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). The work includes protecting existing structures and salvaged materials, preventing sediment or contaminant entry into waterways, and providing and maintaining site signage on access roads. Underwater divers must be engaged as needed. In order to comply with restrictions relating to work in water, all work must be carried out between July 16 and August 31, 2026. The MRN reserves the right to modify the scope of the work.
