Site work and new construction of a museum in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Working plans call for the construction of a 70,200-square-foot, two-story above grade, one-story below grade museum.
The proposed facility consists of an approximately 6,500 m2 purpose-built heritage and museum facility designed to achieve Category A museum standards, including stringent environmental control requirements for artifact preservation and collections storage. TIMELINE: On behalf of Inuuit Heritag Trust Inc, (the Owner), Arctic Fresh projects Inc, and Penn-co Construction Canada (the Construction Manager) is inviting the following trade Contractors, to submit proposals to provide design-assist services for the Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre project. RFP for Design-Assist Services for Timber Curtainwall, Fire Protection, Mechanical and Electrical. The project is currently progressing through design development, led by Dorte Mandup Canada Inc. Construction is anticipated to commence in summer 2027, with substantial completion targeted for late 2030/ early 2031. *The Inuit Heritage Trust awarded the contract to the Denmark-based architectural firm, Dorte Mandrup Architects.
