Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Upland, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The Project includes but is not limited to: interior renovations to Vocational Classroom N257 and Storage N257B located in Building N North and the construction of an adjacent outdoor structure, and associated site improvements. Interior renovations include demolition, cabinetry, finish carpentry, installation of owner furnished demonstration equipment, electrical and plumbing work to connect the demonstration equipment, fire alarm, adjustment to existing electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and equipment, patching of finishes, and painting. The outdoor structure consists of demolition of existing paving, relocation of utilities, grading, construction of a structural steel structure, reinforced and grouted concrete masonry enclsoure, metal roof, hollow metal doors and frames, reinforced concrete foundations, concrete slab, signage, finishes, and electrical and plumbing work. Site improvements consist of restriping accessible parking stalls and loading zones, site signage, extension of existing storm drain systems, construction of concrete flatwork and equipment pads, installation of owner furnished demonstration equipment on pads and building exterior, removal and replacement of existing fencing and gates, and installation of new fencing. Each bid must conform and be responsive to this notice and all other documents comprising the contract documents. This Project is a public works project and is subject to the payment of prevailing wages. The Director of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which this work is to be performed for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract that will be awarded to the successful bidder, copies of which are available to the public online or from the District Office, upon request. The successful bidder and all subcontractor(s) shall comply with all applicable Labor Code provisions, which include, but are not limited to, the payment of not less than the required prevailing rates to all workers employed by them in the execution of the Contract, the employment of apprentices, the hours of labor and the debarment of contractors and subcontractors. Each Bidder submitting a bid must be a Department of Industrial Relations registered contractor2 pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 ("DIR Registered Contractor"), unless an exception expressly provided in the Labor Code applies. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR. If awarded the Contract, at all times the during performance of the work, the Bidder and all Subcontractors of any tier shall be DIR Registered Contractors and continue to comply with all DIR requirements. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following classifications: General Construction (B) No bid will be accepted from a contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the California Business and Profession Code at the time the bid is submitted. In contracts involving expenditures in excess of $25,000.00, the successful bidder shall file a payment bond issued by an admitted Surety authorized to conduct business in California. A performance bond will also be required. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or reject any one or more items of a bid, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bid or in the bidding process
