Description

Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Chesapeake, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 700-seat educational facility.

The District requires professional architectural and engineering services for the replacement of the existing Chesapeake Career Center. Services will include programming, design, construction documents, special inspections, and contract administration for all building and site improvements. The design should support the installation of technology, infrastructure, and hardware provided by other parties to meet District standards. The A/E will collaborate with the District to develop programmatic requirements and design concepts that support current practices for preparing a future-ready workforce, with flexible spaces adaptable to changing needs. The facility is intended to accommodate a capacity of 700 students at any given time, with both morning and evening classes. The project may use the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) or alternative construction processes, and proposers must ensure compliance with all related procedures, state code, and District policy.
