The City of Palm Bay is seeking input, through a presolicitation meeting, from qualified engineering firms, trenchless rehabilitation specialists, construction contractors, and other interested vendors, regarding effective, long-term solutions for failing stormwater pipes located beneath Malabar Road. The City has identified potential structural deterioration, subsurface void development, settlement concerns, and aging drainage infrastructure beneath portions of Malabar Road, a heavily traveled multi-lane arterial roadway. Preliminary evaluations indicate that portions of the stormwater system may require rehabilitation, replacement, stabilization, or other corrective measures to ensure long-term roadway integrity and operational reliability. The City is seeking industry input regarding: Trenchless rehabilitation alternatives; Open-cut replacement approaches; Void detection and stabilization methods; Maintenance of Traffic ("MOT") considerations; Constructability within constrained corridors; and Long-term risk mitigation strategies.
