Renovation of an educational facility in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Renovate the McClatchy High School team room and adjacent areas. The work includes all labor and materials to update the team room and adjacent storage room. The scope of work is further detailed in Attachment "A." The project must be completed within fifty (50) consecutive calendar days from the date specified in the District's Notice to Proceed and is subject to approval by the District or its authorized representative. Renovation of training/team room and adjacent storage space, including but not limited to new casework, doors, lighting, and flooring. Demolition The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete demolition work associated with the athletic training room and adjacent storage areas. Work shall include the demolition and removal of all existing cabinetry and bulletin boards, along with any associated items required to facilitate the new work indicated herein. The Contractor shall coordinate demolition activities with all applicable trades and remove any materials, infrastructure, or miscellaneous items necessary to accommodate updated plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, flooring, and finish work. All demolition debris shall be properly disposed of off-site in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. Carpentry The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete carpentry and framing modifications associated with the reconfiguration of the athletic room and storage spaces. Work shall include installing a new double-door opening to provide direct access to the storage room without requiring passage through the male locker room. The existing set of doors will be removed and remain a cased opening. Locksmith / Door Hardware The Contractor shall furnish and install all required district-standard door hardware, locksets, and keying associated with the new openings. Work shall include providing new hardware at the double-door opening serving the locker room. All hardware shall comply with District standards and applicable accessibility requirements. Plumbing The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete plumbing modifications associated with the renovation work. Scope shall include relocating the existing ice machine, associated filters, and related plumbing infrastructure to the corner of the room as indicated in the construction documents. Existing plumbing infrastructure serving the whirlpool tubs shall be removed and modified to accommodate the reinstallation of only one whirlpool unit. The Contractor shall also reinstall the sink and all associated plumbing connections within the new cabinetry layout. The relocated ice machine shall be coordinated with the existing unit located at the baseball snack bar, specifically the Manitowoc Model SY0504A. Existing drinking fountain will need to be relocated east to clear the door clearance requirements. Cabinetry and Shelving The Contractor shall provide and install new cabinetry and shelving systems within the athletic room and storage room. Work shall include installation of new base cabinetry with counter-height work surfaces and overhead wall-mounted cabinets located between the relocated ice machine and whirlpool tub area. In addition, the Contractor shall furnish and install two Home Depot Husky wire shelving units, red finish, rated for 1,000 pounds per shelf, with approximate dimensions of 48 inches by 24 inches by 72 inches. Electrical The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for electrical work associated with the project improvements. Work shall include providing new GFCI-protected electrical outlets at the new counter and cabinetry locations within the athletic room. The Contractor shall also replace or retrofit existing lighting fixtures with new District-standard LED lighting fixtures throughout the project area. Flooring he Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for flooring improvements within the project area. Work shall include cleaning, preparing, and repairing existing athletic room flooring surfaces as required to receive a new epoxy flooring system complete with an integral 6-inch cove base within the athletic training room. Drywall The Contractor shall provide all drywall patching, repair, and finishing necessary to accommodate demolition and new construction work. All patched and repaired surfaces shall be textured and finished to match existing adjacent surfaces and conditions. Painting The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for painting work associated with the project. Work shall include application of one coat of primer and two finish coats of paint on all walls above existing FRP surfaces. Existing murals shall remain in place and shall be protected during construction. Painting work shall be carefully coordinated to paint around the murals without causing damage. Fiberglass Reinforced Panels (FRP) The Contractor shall furnish and install new fiberglass reinforced panel wall protection systems within the athletic room. Work shall include installation of full-height 8-foot FRP panels throughout the athletic room using Panolam white pebble texture panels or approved equal, complete with matching PVC trim accessories and edge conditions Instructions to bidders: Bidders must submit sealed bids, clearly marked per instructions, on the forms provided by the District. All required documents must be included. Only prequalified bidders pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20111.5 are eligible. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required; failure to attend or tardiness will render a bid ineligible. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond, and comply with prevailing wage requirements. Bidders must be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations and possess appropriate State of California Contractor Licenses (A and/or B), which must remain active and in good standing for the contract duration. Additional conditions and forms required include a bid bond, non-collusion declaration, site visit certification, designated subcontractors list, insurance certificates, workers' compensation certification, registered subcontractors list, and others as specified in the contract documents. Bids not meeting these conditions will be deemed nonresponsive and not considered. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and/or waive any irregularities. Pre-qualification requirements: Only prequalified bidders are eligible to submit bids for this project. Bidders must be registered as public works contractors with the Department of Industrial Relations and possess a valid State of California Contractor License (A and/or B). Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required. Required documentation includes bid bond, non-collusion declaration, site visit certification, designated subcontractors list, proof of appropriate bonds and insurance, and other certifications as detailed in the instructions to bidders and contract documents.
