Renovation of a mixed-use development in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel.
Question Deadline 06/08/2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing only. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer, in response to such questions, will be issued by Addenda to all plan holders registered with the Issuing Office. Questions received less than 7 working days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. Structures #6 will receive 36 ft. long prefabricated fiberglass truss bridge with a deck width of approx. 6 ft. clear. Structure #7 will be the same prefabricated fiberglasstruss bridge but will be 40 ft. in length and have 75 SY of non-woven filter fabric under 144 SF of 3x3 gabion basket slope protection at one end. Each structure will receive timber grade beam foundations totaling 48 LF. Project involvesthe demolition of both the existing greenway boardwalks at both locations. It is anticipated that 2 type III barricades will be used and up to 0.5 acre of clearing will be required for access and primitive trail relocation. 2. Structures #17, 102, and 103 can be found in section 012300 Alternates. Structure 17 was designed for both wood replacement and steel replacement and is listed twice in the alternates section. B. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The project consists of repairs and replacements for multiple greenway pedestrian structures. The base bid includes replacing two existing timber structures with fiberglass structures. Alternate 1 involves replacing existing timber decking with FRP on two other structures. Alternate 2 is for replacing one timber structure with Timber Glu-lams and timber decking. Alternate 3 is for replacing the same structure with steel framing and FRP decking. Locations: Bridges 6 & 7 on Mine Creek Trail access from north end of Post Oak Road; Bridge #17 north of Millbrook Road in Shelley Lake Park; Bridges 102 & 103 along east side of Brentwood Park over Marsh Creek. Completion: 300 days from Notice to Proceed. Those prospective bidders that obtain an electronic (digital) copy of the Bidding Documents from a plan room are encouraged to register as plan holders from the Bidding Documents Website or Issuing Office. Owner is not responsible for omissions in Bidding Documents or other documents obtained from plan rooms, or for a Bidder's failure to obtain Addenda from a plan room.
