Renovation of a transportation facility in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA or Authority) seeks to remove and replace the existing cooling towers on the 5th floor of the South Station Bus Terminal. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. "Requests for proposals for design services is underway. SCOPE OF WORK General The overall scope of work for this project consists of the removal and replacement of two (2) Marly NC series cooling towers mated together from the 5 th floor of the South Station Bus Terminal. Existing cooling towers shall be replaced with new cooling tower(s) of like specifications and size. No modifications expected to existing roof platform/dunnage. The new tower will be placed in the same location. The bidder will be responsible for all necessary work to disconnect, disassemble, and removal from the site of the existing cooling towers The bidder will be responsible for all piping/pipe insulation, wiring, and heat trace required. The bidder will be required to comply with all applicable MBTA Engineering Directives & Guidelines. https://www.mbta.com/engineering/directives
