Frontenac County is requesting general contractor submissions for the coordinated replacement of the Roof-Top-Unit (RTU) at 250 Palace Rd, Kingston and refurbishment of the flat roof on which it sits. The roof is bordered by a steel railing which is to be refurbished, along with the addition of a barrier or small, roofed area to protect the RTU from ice and snow falling from the adjacent gabled roof. The work includes removal of the old RTU, supply and installation of a new RTU of equal or higher capacity and performance, flat roof refurbishment including removal of old materials, remediation of the roof deck, installation of new membrane and flashing. The existing railing and ladder are to be removed and reinstalled to allow for proper membrane installation and anchor sealing, and will be repaired by a certified welder, repainted, and reinstalled to current code requirements. All work must be completed to current industry best practices. The successful proponent must ensure proper permitting is in place before work commences, confirm all measurements prior to ordering and/or manufacturing of replacements, and remove and dispose of all waste. All materials and staffing must comply with current Buy Ontario legislation and directives.
