Lewis Township will receive sealed bids for the Old State Rd Bridge Replacement Project in Northumberland County, PA. The work includes replacing an existing 4’ high by 12’ wide concrete rigid frame bridge with a Pre-cast Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert of similar size. The project also includes associated roadway paving, guide rail, rock protection, installation of erosion and sediment control measures, traffic control, all necessary incidental work, appurtenances, and site restoration as described in the Project Manual. All work and materials must conform to current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Publications 408 and related standards. Bidders do not need to be PennDOT pre-qualified. Bids will only be accepted online through PennBid. Each bid must include a certified check or bank draft made payable to Lewis Township, or a satisfactory bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid. The bid must also include a fully completed Non-Collusion Affidavit. Construction Performance and Payment Bonds are required in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the contract as awarded. State Prevailing Wage Rates must be paid as required by Pennsylvania law. Bidders and all subcontractors must ensure non-discrimination in employment. The Township reserves the right to hold bids for up to 60 days for review, to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities, or negotiate contract amounts.
