This work is the Milling, Asphalt Resurfacing, ADA Curb Ramps, Line Painting Layout, and Thermoplastic Pavement Markings on various city streets. The Contractor is responsible for traffic control, project safety, clean-up and restoration. The Contractor shall provide all transportation, labor, equipment and materials necessary to complete all work in accordance with the contract documents. Any additional work must have advance written approval from the City Engineer prior to construction. The Contractor is responsible for physically inspecting the work site and for being familiar with all contract requirements before bidding and starting work. Clarifications of contract requirements must be obtained before submitting a bid. All asphalt tie-ins to intersecting streets will be paid as mainline Scratch and Wearing tonnage. Tie-ins to intersecting streets will be marked by the city at time of advertisement. No additional items or payment will be added for pavement tie-ins. Proposals are requested for the 2026 Paving II - Liquid Fuels project for the City of Erie. This project is subject to the Davis-Bacon and related acts, and contractors must comply with the City of Erie's MBE and WBE Policy. The project will be partially financed through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u. Liquidated damages are set at $1,845.00 per calendar day. Proposals must use the forms supplied by the Municipality. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid, payable to the municipality. The successful bidder must provide a performance bond or certified check for 100% of the contract amount within 20 days of award. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
