Renovation of an educational facility in Malibu, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Relocation of three (3) relocatable classroom buildings from Malibu High School (A#03-117407), located at 30215 Morning View Drive, Malibu, California, to replace three (3) existing 24' x 40' relocatables at Webster Elementary School. The District-owned relocatable classrooms at Malibu High School will be safed-off by a separate contractor currently on site. The selected contractor shall be responsible for the complete dismantling, transportation, reinstallation, and all associated utility and fire alarm connections at Webster Elementary School. The scope also includes demolition and removal of the existing relocatable classrooms at Webster Elementary School, as well as site preparation and foundation work necessary to receive the relocated buildings. In addition, the project includes interior improvements to the three classrooms, consisting of new flooring, replacement of ceiling tiles, and repainting of tackable wall panels. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: B The Bidder's license(s) must be active and in good standing at the time of the bid opening and must remain so throughout the term of the Contract. a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District, a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Santa Monica-Malibu USD in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. This bid security shall be a guarantee that the Bidder shall, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Project. The District's Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful Bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no Bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. All prequalification questionnaires will be received until May 11, 2026 Construction Start: July 1, 2026 Beneficial Occupancy: September 30, 2026 Final Completion: October 31, 2026 Approximate Project Size: $250,000 to $300,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
