Sealed proposals are invited for landscape maintenance for Homewood City Schools. Proposals must be accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond payable to Homewood City Schools in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount, not exceeding $10,000. Evidence of insurance as detailed in the bid documents will be required at contract signing. Only contractors approved through established prequalification procedures and criteria will be eligible to bid. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the Central Office of Homewood City Schools and the office of the Landscape Architect. Bid documents are available electronically from the Landscape Architect, with all printing or reproduction costs borne by bidders. Bids must be submitted on forms supplied by the Landscape Architect. All bidders exceeding the amount set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license by displaying the current license number on the sealed envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive technical errors as deemed in its best interest. Pre-qualification requirements: Only contractors who have been approved through the prequalification procedures and criteria established by the Owner may bid. Written procedures and criteria are available at the office of the Landscape Architect. Prequalification packets must be returned to the Landscape Architect by the specified deadline. Evidence of proper licensing as specified by state law is required for bidders exceeding the monetary threshold for general contractors.
