The Corporation of the Township of Ignace (the "Township") invites proposals from qualified and experienced engineering consulting firms to provide professional engineering services for the Ignace Water Pollution Control Plant Upgrades project. The Township's existing Water Pollution Control Plant is an aging municipal facility that is approaching, and in key respects has exceeded, its practical useful service life. The Township wishes to retain a qualified engineering consultant to assist the Township in planning, designing, and implementing practical, phased, and cost-conscious improvements to renew, upgrade, and, where required, replace components of the existing facility on the current site. This assignment consists of two related and coordinated components. The first component is a lifecycle review and phased renewal assessment of the existing Water Pollution Control Plant. This work is intended to help the Township better understand the condition, performance, remaining service life, operational limitations, renewal priorities, and long-term viability of the facility, and to establish a practical strategy for future rehabilitation, upgrading, expansion, or replacement of the plant. The second component is to advance the engineering work required to support implementation of priority improvements at the facility, including dichlorination, dechlorination, dewatering, chemical storage and metering, automation and controls, and related building, process, electrical, and site works, together with tendering, contract administration, and construction-phase services as required. The purpose of this assignment is to support the Township in the continued provision of safe, reliable, and compliant wastewater treatment services for the community. The Township is seeking professional advice and engineering services that will help confirm current needs, identify feasible project pathways, establish a sound foundation for future capital planning, and advance immediate priority works required for health, safety, environmental, and regulatory purposes.
