The Township of Rideau Lakes is seeking proposals from firms with the necessary experience to provide all labour, material, and equipment necessary to remove, replace, and construct sidewalks located in the villages of Elgin, Newboro, and Portland. Work includes: Elgin: _ Remove existing high back curb and reinstate depressed curb to create a sidewalk ramp with tactile plates to create an accessible parking stall at Elgin Drug Store. Newboro: _ Approximate 7 m of sidewalk replacement on Drummond Street (CR 42). _ Approximate 40 m of sidewalk replacement on Brock Street from the corner of Carleton Street. _ Approximate 40 m of new 15 cm curb and gutter to control water from Newboro Harbour parking lot. Portland: _ Approximate 46 m of sidewalk replacement on Main Street from Perth to Colborne Streets. _ Approximate 93 m of removal of existing sidewalks along the east side of Main Street from Water Street to Perth Street. Reinstate with topsoil and sod. _ Approximate 108 m of sidewalk replacement on Perth Street from Campbell Street to Main Street. Proposals must be made in the specified format, include the required forms, and fully contemplate the outlined project scope. Proposals are to be submitted by mail or hand delivered in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with its contents. Individuals or firms interested in submitting a proposal should register as a Bidder with the Municipality to ensure they receive any addenda which may be issued. No formal site meeting is scheduled; the sidewalks are public and may be accessed at any time by potential bidders. The Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, in whole or in part, and to waive formalities as needed. All proposals received will be held in strict confidence until after the closing date and time. The cost of proposal submission is the sole responsibility of the bidder; no reimbursement will be provided for any costs incurred in response to the request for proposals..
