The Richard Street Booster Pump Station was built in 1934 with most recent upgrade only addressing the control system. The Energy Audit conducted in 2019 found a much lower than expected wire to water efficacy. Until recently this booster pump station was the only station providing water pressure to a critical institutional and commercial zone, including the Frisbie Memorial Hospital, making it difficult to conduct maintenance. With the Salmon Falls Booster Pump station coming on line in early 2025, it is now time to perform an overdue accelerated overhaul to upgrade the motors, pumps and address some minor structural issues at the same time. The project is included in the City's 2027-2032 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
