As part of an agreement put in place in 1924, the City of Rochester provides drinking water to a small portion of the Town of Lebanon, ME. As part of that agreement, the City of Rochester retained the right and responsibility of maintaining the infrastructure in Lebanon. Approximately 2,000 linier feet of original 1924 cast iron water main remains in River Road. This water main is in poor condition and in need of repair. At this time crews are unable to replace a galvanized steel water line in one of the side streets, because the water main is too fragile to handle a new service connection. The project is included in the City's 2027-2032 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of May 18,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
